 Age specifications: Our methods are effective for adults and children, kindergarten and up.
Hours of operation: From August to May, we tutor from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. During the summer months, we tutor from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend hours available upon request.
Initial testing: The price for initial testing is $100, which includes a consultation and a report.
- We administer a diagnostic test to evaluate academic math skills.
- Testing time is approximately 90 minutes.
- You will receive a report detailing your child's math skill levels in relation to state standards.
- We hold a free consultation after the first testing to review the written report and discuss instruction plans.
- We then re-test our clients after every 40 to 50 hours of treatment, at a price equal to a regular tutoring session. This includes testing and consultation to discuss progress.
One-to-one tutoring: For those desiring of intensive intervention, tutoring is one-to-one. Repetition is essential for good results. We recommend that clients come 2 to 3 days a week and complete math homework packet before the next session. We offer daily one-hour and two-hour sessions.
Group tutoring: For those who need periodic help with some homework, we offer group homework help on Wednesdays from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. The group will start at 6:00 sharp. If no students arrive by that time on any given day, the group session will be cancelled.
How long will I need to be tutored? Since no two learners are alike, this varies. Some clients can get their math abilities up to where they need to be in 40 hours or less. Some take more. The average client, however, will improve by at least one math level on one or more math subskills in 40 hours of intensive therapy.
Pricing: The hourly rate for one-on-one tutoring is $45. The hourly rate for group tutoring is $20
- Clients who pay monthly receive a 3% discount on total invoice.
- Clients who pay for a 20-hour or 40-hour block, receive a 5% discount on total invoice.
- Clients who pay for a block of 5 group lessons get a 5% discount.
Clients are dismissed at 55 minutes past the hour to allow five minutes of preparation for the next lesson.
